We interrupt this program....

I know I said my next blog would be about getting in shape and my overly competitive nature...

But something amazing happened today.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS WERE POSTED!

I thought you'd be ok with the diversion. Engagement photos are fun. I love to look at other couples engagement photos all the time.

Before we get to the eye candy, lets talk about location and clothing. Where do you take these amazing photos and what on earth do you wear in them?

For me, the choice was simple. Everything about this wedding is meant to be a complete mixture of the dude and I. We're getting married and will have amazing wedding photos in my hometown. Why not have amazing photos in the dudes hometown? So we did. When asked where we wanted to have out photos done, I quickly responded with "Downtown Placerville!" I was always drawn to architectural photos like the following:

I knew I had to have some kind of edgy background like these. Now did that say much about the dude and I? It's a bit modern, it's old vintage brick. Sure. What would speak volumes about us? Photos in the snow...so I added that to the list. Talk about challenging mother nature!

So there it was...my vision...architecture and nature.

Now....what to wear? Do I need to dress up for this? Do I need to go shopping for this?

Maybe I should just try to look like myself. We both ended up wearing jeans for both portions of our shoot and man am I glad! Not only were we comfortable (ok...freezing...but comfortable)...but we look like ourselves!!

I had asked my photographers for a few tips and here's what they said, should you need to apply this to your future photo taking appointments:

-Wear solid colors. Loud prints tend to fight with the photo more than a solid does. Pick a solid you look great in and you'll be fine!

-Wear something you're comfortable in. First of all, do you really want to look back on a photo of yourself and think "Oh my...what was I thinking?"...second of all, it's awkward enough walking around having your photo taken...may as well feel confident in what you're wearing!

Next time I'll talk about the shoot and how AMAZING our photographers are...

But here's a preview!
