More than I am uncomfortable about receiving gifts, I never tell ANYONE what I want. I never want anyone to feel like I won't appreciate my gift if they can't give me what I request...so I stay mum about most things. It's served me this long...why change it?
So weddings, showers, bachelorette parties...all this wedding stuff seems to be gift driven...so why not make a handy dandy little list for people who want to partake in the fun of gift giving? I know I appreciate purchasing stuff for other couples off THEIR registry. I know they're getting something they want, need, and will use. Win-Win-Win (ala Michael Scott...or Charlie Sheen).
OK...you probably won't be able to register for the twisted things people buy you for your bachelorette party...but you know what I mean.
So where to register? Here is a list of numerous places considered by myself and the dude.
Bed Bath and Beyond. Convenient and those amazing little 20% off coupons that are ever-so abundant. Oh, by the way...you register here and return a gift? You get cash back. Say what?
Macy's. Scope out a couples registry early and watch it regularly. You'll notice that things go on sale like CRAZY! I once saw something there for $150...the next week it was on special promotion for $50! Plus if you're a Macy's cardholder you can earn Star Rewards points. I am not a cardholder for Macy's but, you can earn a portion of every gift purchased off your registry toward a gift card for you! How cool!
Williams-Sonoma. Nothing really special besides the fact that they have amazing products. Their prices are...well...pricey. They do have cute stuff though! Namely, I purchased Star Wars pancake molds for my best friend on the planet...hello perfect!
Pottery Barn. Less focus on kitchen, more focus on the whole house. For those who don't co-habitate prior to their nuptials, this is an excellent place for core pieces. Prices are high, but the pieces are solid and can be worked into any decor very easily.
Crate & Barrel. Amazing registry parties, amazing products, great prices. What's not to love? They have a completion bonus of 10% off every purchase for 6 months after your wedding...even if the thing you're buying is not on your registry.
Amazon.com. Can anyone say 'every retailer at your fingertips'? If your guest list is heavy on the tech savvy side, consider this as an option. Comparison shopping has never gotten any easier!
I think this is a great option for couples who feel they have everything. Why not get the special extras for your honeymoon? Downfall? High fees for these excursions.
So there are obviously a multitude of places you could add to this list, but these are the places we considered. We ended up narrowing it down to two.
Did you register? Did you feel weird about it? Do you like giving couples gifts off their registries or do you prefer to keep it more original and give them something a little different?

You are, of course, adding Williams-Sonoma's entire line of Star Wars kitchen stuff to your registry, right? I mean, it only sounds logical to me that that would be the first thing on anyone's registry.
